Role:

CACE in Cumbernauld (Cumbernauld Acton Care for the Elderly) are seeking Volunteers  to join their Board of Directors. Ideally, they should reside or work in the North Locality of North Lanarkshire (Cumbernauld, Northern Corridor and Kilsyth and the villages)

Directors are expected to play a full part in the activities of the CACE Board.

The role of the Board is to set the strategic framework for the organisation, monitor and evaluate the performance of the organisation, including financial performance; and ensure the highest standard of governance and conduct in the business of CACE. 

The Board meets at least 6 times per year. In addition, Sub Committees meet a minimum of four times a year. Directors are also requested to participate in various development and working groups, the Annual General meeting and ongoing training events as required, a commitment of 2- 4 hours per month on average.

In particular CACE is looking for individuals who have skills, knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Governance
  • Community Development
  • Finance
  • Legal Background
  • Charity funding and fundraising
  • Human Resources
  • Entrepreneur (leading innovation and ideas)
  • Media and Marketing

Organisation profile:

CACE is a registered charity, founded in 1990 as a pilot study to help identify the need and demand for services to older people in the Cumbernauld area.  Since then we have grown from strength to strength and are now viewed as the leading provider of quality day care opportunities for older people, aged 60 and over, in Cumbernauld. We currently support 130  older people and their carers.
