Baldy Bane Theatre Company is looking to expand its Board of Directors. At this stage in the organisation’s development, we are looking for two new Board members with a real passion and some existing knowledge and understanding of its work. If you can commit your skills, time and energy to playing an important role in this interesting, innovative and ambitious organisation we would love to hear from you. We are particularly looking for individuals with a skill set around Accountancy, Fund Raising, Human Resources or Law. The time commitment is around 2 hours each month. There is no remuneration other than reasonable expenses incurred.
Baldy Bane Theatre Company is a touring Theatre in Education company which has been established for 25 years. Our administrative base is in Shawlands in Glasgow. The team of core staff members, which is responsible for the management of tours covering all local authority areas in Scotland, is small. The company has operated as a Company Limited by Guarantee since 1991 and was awarded charitable status in December 2015. We are an Equal Opportunities employer. Most of our stakeholders come from the Public Sector (Road Safety Scotland, Local Authorities, Police Scotland, NHS, North Dementia Forum, Community Safety Glasgow et al) The subject matter of our plays and other drama resources covers issues around domestic abuse, personal and community safety, dementia, and doorstep crime, among others. The objects for which the Company is established are to advance education and the arts by the writing, production and touring of high quality dramas and workshops to intergenerational audiences across the UK. Our mission is to use the arts to inspire and encourage social awareness and responsibility. Our vision is engaged, educated and empowered generations through the arts.
