Associate Consultants – UK wide

Living Streets is calling for interested consultants to join our associates register. In particular we are currently seeking applications to support our work securing income from grant funders, contracts and tenders, though we are also interested in wider fundraising expertise.

The nature of our work means that from time to time we need to engage consultants to deliver short term assignments on our behalf.  This work could include: preparing a short proposal for a street audit on behalf of a local authority; responding to a complex tender process for a Train Operating Company; leading on preparing a Lottery application, in liaison with our Local Impact team; or delivering a local/regional fundraising project. We have clear protocols for how we develop strong, deliverable proposals, and we would expect you to understand and apply these in your work.

Currently we are specifically interested in applicants with skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Successful bid writing for grants (e.g. government, local authority, Lottery, charitable trusts)
  • Successful bid writing for contracts (e.g. local authority, Train Operating Companies, other commercial providers)
  • Tendering processes for a range of providers (e.g. local authorities and Train Operating Companies)
  • Wider income generation experience, including major donor, legacy giving, individual giving and corporate sponsorships/partnerships.

We are particularly interested to hear from applicants with knowledge and experience of one or more of Living Streets’ areas of operation, such as walking/sustainable transport, children and young people (including working with schools), community engagement and working with older people. Living Streets undertakes income generation across the UK, so knowledge of the funding environment in the devolved administrations may also be useful.

Organisation profile:

Living Streets is the national charity that stands up for pedestrians. We work with you to create safe, attractive, enjoyable streets where it’s great to walk.
