About the opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Food for Life Scotland team working to support local authorities across Scotland. Our work provides a framework for sustainable school meals and is connecting producers and caterers, putting more Scottish food on the table.

Your role

This role has a dual focus; monitoring & evaluation and database management & analysis for the Food for Life programme. The postholder will work closely with Food for Life Scotland staff and partners to ensure that regular and relevant monitoring and evaluation is in place in order to track the impact of the Food for Life programme against agreed targets and policy objectives.

The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring that Food for Life Scotland’s database is kept up to date, functional and that its contents supports programme implementation. As well as maintaining the database, the postholder will analyse the data to produce relevant reports or information to support the FFLS team in extending the reach and impact of Food for Life Served Here and the sourcing of Scottish produce for school meals.

About you

We’re looking for someone with experience in developing monitoring and evaluation systems and databases using MS office applications, as well as excellent working knowledge of SQL and PowerBI.

You will be highly motivated, with good attention to detail and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

You will have excellent quantitative analysis and data visualisation skills and the ability to problem-solve, collect and analyse data, draw evidence-based conclusions, and think innovatively.

You will have a very high level of computer and data literacy and good communication skills.

You must also fundamentally believe in the mission of Soil Association, and Soil Association’s Food for Life, and be proud to represent and be part of the FFL programmes.
