Are you interested in Supporting Young adults out and about in the Community within the Edinburgh Area? Small group support which is different every day and keeps the work day fun and rewarding.
As a Support Practitioner with Positive Paths CIC you will be part of a fun team, with lots of opportunities to learn and try out new things with our members (e.g. kickboxing, zumba, exploring the local community and working within our hubs supporting and planning a range of activities to meet the needs of our members.
Your daily role will involve supporting the members and planning with our members creating a safe and relaxed environment for them to learn and practise new skills, build on existing ones and have fun with their friends. All Support we provide is group based, you will be working as part of a staff team, supporting our members to integrate within the group and join in with their peers in a group based learning experience.
Our Group based program runs Monday - Friday 10-3, with staff working days starting slightly earlier and finishing a little later to allow time for Planning and record keeping. Staff may be required to support Members to and from group support using Public Transport.
Applicants will be encouraged to help develop our services with our members and bring their own interests/skills into the role.
There will be opportunities within the company for further training and personal development within the role.

projects and outcomes with a view of establishing work experience and volunteering roles.
Our social programs provide the opportunity for the members to meet each other and enjoy participating in different activities together, during evening events and short breaks during the weekends.

Our Social program & activities are informal and innovative ways to allow parents and carers respite while members meet socially in the evenings/ weekends or go away on Short overnight breaks together.
Individuals set their own goals while following our skills based program that offers diverse and active ways to learn and live.
The majority of our Day & Social services are undertaken in the Group setting encouraging peer learning and interaction along with positive social experiences.
We have two 'learning/resource' Hubs for our members to access within Edinburgh where staff and members meet to access our Day & Social provisions.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
· SVQ 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
· Positive and motivated outlook.
· Working with groups of young adults in group settings.
· Ability to use initiative and problem solve.
· 3 years experience within the Additional Support Needs (ASN) /Disability field.
· Full clean driving license.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and IT Skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
