Harris Hill is recruiting a National Support Manager on behalf of a Scottish Criminal Justice Organisation that works to create safer and more cohesive communities across Scotland.

This role has responsibility for leading organisational wide projects and managing local services across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Highland & Moray. This role is based primarily in Aberdeen however there will be a requirement to travel on occasions throughout Scotland and in particular Edinburgh where the head office is located.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Operations to lead a number of services over a geographical area.
  • To undertake specific projects to support service development, as determined by the Director of Operations
  • To lead operational business processes to make sure the organisation delivers outputs that meet service users' needs and stakeholders' needs
  • Lead the strategic direction and implementation of services across the organisation, in conjunction with the Director of Operations and the Service Managers.
  • Manage and co-ordinate on-going change management ensuring that change projects are initiated, monitored and progressed as agreed.

Experience & Skill

  • The successful candidate must have previous experience in an operational capacity leading services and developing teams.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of working within criminal/ youth justice and communities would be preferred
  • The successful candidate must have strong project management and organisational skills
  • The successful candidate must have strong leadership and managerial skills
  • The successful candidate must have strong relationship building skills in order to build relationships with internal stakeholders and new & existing funders and partners
  • The preferred candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The candidate must have a valid driving licence and the ability to travel on occasions when required

Criminal Justice Support Worker - FearFree

Housing Support Worker

Sacro in partnership with YPeople is delivering ‘Your Home’ a Homelessness Preventative Service in Edinburgh. The service aims to have a positive impact by providing help to prevent homelessness and promote and encourage independence.

We are currently seeking a team member to assist in the development and provision of the day to day services of Sacro’s Edinburgh Your Home Service.

The post holders will provide support to service users who are at risk of future homelessness at the earliest possible stage with the aim of preventing escalation of issues which can lead to homelessness. The service also provides support in service user’s current accommodation, for those who have immediate unmet needs.

Support needs vary enormously but examples include: providing assistance to access benefits and health services/ training/education and employment opportunities; addressing antisocial behaviour, resolving conflict and improving relationships, developing social support networks and general living skills e.g. budgeting, cooking, shopping etc.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work both as part of a team and independently is required experience of partnership and inter-agency working is essential.

A commitment to Sacro’s value base is crucial, as this type of work can be challenging.

Experience of working: with people with complex needs, in a mentoring or mediation role, supporting people who have offended or in a health or social care environment would be preferred.

You may have supervisory responsibility for volunteers and student placements.

A relevant qualification is desirable but is not essential.

Work patterns will vary and may include days, evenings and weekends.

You must be prepared to work within equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory standards and adhere to Sacro’s policies and procedures.

You will need to be an effective communicator in English and one additional BAME language, highly organised and have effective team management skills.

You will be qualified to Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling/Psychotherapy with 2 years’ post-qualifying experience, and have a good knowledge of trauma counselling, health inequalities and assessing risk for domestic abuse and HBV. You will work closely with other partners and agencies and be expected to ensure the continued development of good partnership working.

You will be responsible for delivering direct support and mentoring interventions to BAME women affected by domestic abuse and Honour-Based Violence (HBV) and for maintaining accurate case notes. You will operate within the Scottish Government’s Equally Safe Strategy as well as Sacro’s policies and procedures and will escalate any safety/well-being concerns around adult and child protection to the Service Co-ordinator/Service Manager. You will be responsible for monitoring women’s well-being throughout their journey within the service and for making appropriate follow-on referrals to relevant services. You will also be required to organise, deliver and participate in group community activities.
