The Role
This is a senior role, key to the effective operation of The Scottish Civic Trust which will oversee the day-to-day running of finance function with responsibility for all aspect of management accounting (including all necessary reconciliations), cash management, and budgeting and forecasting.
The successful candidate will provide support to the Director and Board on finance matters ensuring that information and advice is available to support strategic decision making. The post will also play a key role in the development of sustainable funding for the organisation.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience and understanding of Charity Accounts, the Independent Examination process, producing and reporting against budgets, have strong organisational skills, and working with Xero as the software for accounts and payroll.
You will be required to work 17 hours per week, schedule to be agreed. You will work from our central Glasgow office.

Scottish Civic Trust has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts and Office Manager.
We need an enthusiastic and creative person to oversee the day to day running of finance, budgeting, HR and Premises Management.
The Role
The purpose of the role is to oversee the overall financial management and reporting for the Trust, including cash management, budgeting, grant claims, Gift Aid Claims, OSCR returns and preparation for the annual Independent Examination.
The Accounts and Office Manager will also manage ICT (with external support), HR and governance administration and premises management.

This can be demonstrated through any of the following:
• Qualification/part qualification from one of the accountancy bodies.

The Scottish Civic Trust has an exciting opportunity available to work with us as our Doors Open Days Communications Officer. This is a part time position to commence as soon as possible, and until March 31st 2023 with the possibility of extending beyond that date.
The role will be based at the Scottish Civic Trust offices at 42 Miller Street, Glasgow G1 1DT. Remote working is not possible for this role.
The purpose of this role is to support the promotion of Doors Open Days, working closely with the National Coordinator. Doors Open Days welcomes almost 100,000 visitors each September from across the world. For many of our visitors, our online and print presence will be their first introduction to the festival. This role will play an important role within the Doors Open Days team and the continuing development of the festival. Acting as a liaison between Doors Open Days, our visitors and the media, the Doors Open Days Communications Officer will ensure that our public image, brand and messaging remain strong and consistent.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong interest in built heritage, such as historic buildings, monuments and parks.
All candidates should have basic proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and should be able to prepare and format reports, letters and other documents as required. They should also be competent in using Canva for basic graphic design.

We need an enthusiastic and creative person to support the administration of the Scottish Civic Trust and the delivery of our projects.
The Role
The purpose of the role is to coordinate the Trust’s Diverse Heritage events and activities, working closely with the Director and Diverse Heritage Strategy & Development Officer. This project involves supporting and developing the Trust’s network of local heritage and community groups, amenity societies and civic trusts through events, including an annual learning event, and promotional material and resources. The project encourages all members of the community, especially young people and people from marginalised and excluded groups, such as people of colour, members of the LGBTQI+ community, and disabled persons, to take an active interest in local cultural heritage. The role also involves promoting Diverse Heritage through the Trust’s website, e-bulletins, social networking sites, talks, civic forums and media campaigns. Diverse Heritage is supported by Historic Environment Scotland and is a three-year, part-time post, with the possibility of extension (subject to funding).

Scottish Civic Trust are looking for a Heritage Administration Officer
We need an enthusiastic and creative person to support the administration of the Scottish Civic Trust and the delivery of our projects.
The Role
The purpose of the role is to support the Office Administrator in the administration of the Scottish Civic Trust (SCT), provide secretarial support to the Director and Technical Committee, and support other staff members in the development and delivery of their projects. This is a junior role with an estimated split of 65:35 administration:heritage project work, and would be well suited to candidates looking for their first post in a heritage environment. Initially the post will be part-time at 17.5 hours per week, with capacity to increase as required by the needs of the Scottish Civic Trust.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong interest in built heritage, such as historic buildings, monuments and parks. This can be demonstrated through any of the following:
Completion of a relevant degree (architectural history, architecture, archaeology, museum studies), Volunteering experience, Participation in relevant clubs or societies
