Scottish Refugee Council is Scotland’s national refugee charity based in Glasgow. We provide help and advice services to refugees and people seeking asylum in Scotland and advocate on refugee issues. The organisation plays a leading role in Scotland and the UK in the development of policy, strategy and services to refugees.
Scottish Refugee Council is an independent human rights charity that has been supporting refugees and advocating for the rights since 1985.
We are looking for an experienced service manager to lead a small team to work with and support refugee families settling in Dundee as part of the Vulnerable Person Resettlement Scheme (VPRS) and Resettlement of Vulnerable Children Scheme (RVCS).
You will be accountable for the performance of the Humanitarian Integration Service in Dundee. You will be leading and managing specified services, delivering excellent customer care and contribute to the strategic development of our services by identifying and acting on local relationship opportunities to improve the refugee journey, experience and outcomes.
You will be responsible for line managing a team that includes Bilingual Integration Support Workers and a Peer Development Volunteer Co-ordinator. You will also work with key partners across the local authority to embed the learning from our work with families in this area.
We will be looking for proven experience of day-to-day staff and service management, including service development. Creative and innovative in approach, you have what it takes to lead change and improve performance. You have a willingness to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas, methods and processes when appropriate. Commercially aware, with a collaborative way of working, you have excellent communication and influencing skills, respect for others opinions and a real drive for results.
This post will be subject to a PVG Registration and you will be working towards OISC registration.
This role reports directly to the Head of Asylum, Integration and Resettlement
Scottish Refugee Council is a national charity providing help and advice to people from the refugee and asylum-seeking community in Scotland and advocating for their rights. We coordinate the annual Refugee Festival which takes place in June and work in close partnership with other organisations on campaigns and service delivery.
SRC currently has 14 directors, 64 staff and 69 volunteers. Our vision is for a Scotland in which all people seeking refugee protection are welcome.
We are looking for refugees (including people seeking asylum) to join our board of directors to support us in achieving our vision. You may have skills in management, finance, law, human resources, public affairs and communications, research and policy, fundraising, IT, any of which would be welcome. You could have gathered these skills in your home country, in the UK or somewhere else. You may have learnt these skills through education, through the workplace or through voluntary work. However, a passion for the rights and welfare of refugees and a willingness to bring your lived experience to the role are what matters most. All new Board Members are offered induction and mentoring support.
The board meets 4 times a year in Glasgow. A strategy day is held annually. Members are expected where possible to take part in one of the three sub-committees (Finance and Audit, Staffing, Fundraising) that support the Board. This is not a paid role however travel expenses will be reimbursed.

This post will provide high level confidential support to the Chief Executive by providing a full secretarial and administrative service. Ensuring that effective planning and administrative systems are in place and maintained efficiently and effectively.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with PA or similar experience. Due to the nature of the role, it is a requirement that applicants have the ability to forward plan their workload and manage complex and busy diaries. Excellent communication skills are essential and you should be educated to HNC level or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
