Project Officer (Skills and Knowledge Framework)

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to play a key role in the delivery of the Participation and Co-production Strand of this new partnership project.

The Project Officer will join at an exciting time for children’s rights in Scotland, and will work to support the implementation of children’s rights through building knowledge and capacity on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The post holder will work collaboratively, building networks in the public and voluntary sector and will work closely with our partners throughout the project to develop, test and refine a Skills and Knowledge Framework and associated resources to support the effective implementation of the UNCRC.

This role will be based with Together (Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights), an NGO alliance with 500 members who work to build awareness, understanding and implementation of children’s human rights in Scotland.

The Project Officer will also be working closely with our key partners, Children’s Parliament, JustRight Scotland and JRS Knowhow. This post offers an exciting opportunity to build strong, diverse networks to shape an important framework which will support the implementation of children’s human rights in Scotland.

Membership and Events Assistant

The Membership and Events Assistant will contribute to Together (Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights)’s mission to inspire and enable everyone in Scotland to put children and young people’s human rights at the heart of everything they do, in line with the Strategic Plan. Throughout the role, the post-holder will be expected to involve Together’s membership – including children and young people – whenever possible and appropriate.

The role will involve coordinating and supporting Together events, communicating with members and supporting the creation and development of resources. Development Manager (UNCRC implementation)

The Development Manager (UNCRC Implementation) will contribute to Together’s mission to inspire and enable everyone in Scotland to put children and young people’s human rights at the heart of everything they do in line with the Strategic Plan.

The role will build on Together’s work to date to develop and build on our reputation as a hub of expertise on children’s human rights. This will involve working with the Director, Trustees and Together team to develop and deliver a UNCRC Implementation Strategy that will:

  • Build the capacity of Together’s members to raise public and professional awareness and understanding of children and young people’s human rights.
  • Influence and build the capacity of our members and duty bearers to inform policy and direct practice.
  • Develop and test innovative ideas to lead best practice in implementing children and young people’s human rights, doing this in ways which are proactive, agile and seize new opportunities.

Throughout the role, the post-holder will be expected to involve Together’s membership – including children and young people – whenever possible and appropriate.
