Partners in Play is a registered charity. Based in North Lanarkshire we provide services to young people with additional support needs encompassing a range of services taking place in the community, home or educational based environments. Every service is unique and tailored for the young person we are supporting.

The role of our Board is to ensure that Partners in Play fulfils its role of care to the young people we support, delivering on our strategic objectives and staying true to our aims whilst continuing to deliver high quality of care.

To be a Board member in our organisation is an exciting and fulfilling role and allows the Board to benefit recruiting individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences and skillsets.

The duties of our Board are:

  • ensure the organisation complies with its governing document and pursues its objectives as defined in governing document,
  • contribute actively to the Board’s role in giving strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy and evaluating performance against agreed targets.
  • safeguard the good name and values of the organisation and ensure the financial stability of the organisation.

As a Board member you can share experience, expertise and knowledge to play a part in shaping our development of services. This is an opportunity to positively influence the role we play in the lives of the young people we support.

Time Commitment and expectations

  • We ask Board members to attend bi-monthly meetings lasting approx. 2 hours and our AGM.
  • Board members may be asked to occasionally attend a training and development session with our staff team.
  • Board members are asked to maintain a good relationship with our management team.
  • Play a part in promoting our work across Lanarkshire
