Domestic Abuse Team Leader

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to lead and manage the support services team at Grampian Women’s Aid. The applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and have the ability to motivate others. They will have a passion for improving the lives of women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse and experience in providing direct support services to vulnerable young people.

Applicants should be qualified to degree/diploma level in a relevant discipline i.e; Social Work, Community Education, Housing Support, SVQ level 3 Health & Social Services, Leadership and Management Level 4, and have at least 2 years’ senior and/or leadership experience providing services to vulnerable people.

Women’s Domestic Abuse Support Worker (2 posts)

Grampian Women’s Aid has delivered domestic abuse services across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire for 40 years. We aim to provide an outstanding level of specialist service provision to support the needs of women, children and young people who have experienced, or are presently experiencing domestic abuse.

The successful candidate should have experience of delivering support, providing information, working with support plans, risk assessments & data bases and working with multi agencies for vulnerable adults. It is an advantage to have an understanding of the issues affecting women experiencing domestic abuse and you should share our commitment to feminism and equality. The Women’s Worker may support women in a variety of settings, including outreach, refuge and office support.

A driving licence and access to a car is essential as this post involves travel throughout Aberdeen City and Shire.

A minimum of SVQ2 relating to health and social care or equivalent is required for this post or a willingness to complete the qualification for SSSC registration.

This role is subject to PVG and SSSC scheme membership. Women only need apply. This post is covered by a Genuine Occupational Requirement (Schedule 9; Equality Act 2010).
