The Highland Third Sector Interface started work in late 2012 and officially launched early 2013. We are funded by the Scottish Government, among others, and are one of a network of 32 other ‘Third Sector Interfaces’ across Scotland.
What is a TSI?
A Third Sector Interface provides a single point of access for support and advice for the Third Sector within a local area. They have an outcome framework that they have to work within, but how that is done is very much based on local need and diversity within the geography and nature of the Third Sector in that area.
About the CJP
The Highland Community Justice Partnership (CJP) was established in 2016 in response to the new Community Justice Scotland Act (2016). The role of the Partnership is simply to work better together in partnership to help prevent offending and reduce reoffending.
About this Role
The model for community justice in Scotland places local strategic planning and delivery of community justice services through Community Planning Partnerships. The purpose of this post is to support the delivery of the local Highland Community Justice Outcome Improvement Plan, the operation and reporting of the Community Justice Partnership.
Responsibilities:
CJP Support
• Support the CJP to build relationships and cooperation, supporting the development and delivery of the Community Justice Outcome Improvement Plan
• To support information sharing and transparency across the governance pathway through the CJP, Highland CPP and elsewhere as agreed.
Community Justice Development
• Support the CJP to leverage in resourcing to deliver change and actions within the Plan that develops approaches to community justice in Highland
• Actively involve the Third Sector, communities, service users, families and victims of offending in the planning and delivery of the work of the CJP and individual partners.
Reporting
• Preparing and submitting reports and other information , with support from the CJP, to Scottish ministers and CJS
• Prepare and submit the annual report, based on the information submitted by the CJP organisations, both to the Scottish Ministers/CJS and a second public facing report to demonstrate progression and performance of the CJP

Purpose:
The post holder will be responsible for supporting development of the Community Justice Partnership join plans and activities to strengthen activity across a wide range of key focus areas, including but not limited to: the development of Community Payback Orders in third sector and community groups, events for partnership working across sectors and organisations, the development of an information and signposting website and commissioning of research.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting volunteers and placements in the café, ensuring their competency and providing training to grow confidence. We are looking for someone with a passion for human rights and equalities to join the THRE team.
THRE (Third Sector Human Rights and Equalities) is a new Scotland-wide project led by GCVS in partnership with HTSI and EVOC. We develop resources, training and networks to support Scotland’s third-sector organisations towards taking a human rights and equalities first approach to their organisational development and delivery.
This role is based at project partner Highland TSI and you will act as the project’s North of Scotland lead, working with teammates based in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
This role can be home or office based, and we would be looking for you to live in or have a strong current connection to the North of Scotland and an understanding of the issues and needs of third-sector organisations working in this part of the country.
As one of the projects Development Officers, your core role will be the development and delivery of courses and resources alongside building relationships and working with the third sector in the north of Scotland and the network of Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs) in your area.

The post is part of a small team and it is anticipated that team members will need to work flexibly, using the various skills of team members to greatest effect.
Additional Information:
It is the nature of work within a TSI that tasks and responsibilities are in many circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises so those tasks which are not

As the refugee resettlement, related to the Ukrainian conflict, continues we are looking for someone with great organisational and communication skills to support the leadership and co-ordination of response within the Third Sector in Highland. This is a new role within HTSI combining aspects of an interface between the public sector arrangements and planning and the third sector service providers, support structures and volunteers.
Working closely with the Highland Council’s Resettlement team, and within Scottish Government Guidance, the post holder will provide a combination of assistance and support to a wide range of individuals and organisations, including host families, refugees and their families, volunteers and the third and public sector. Refugee families are predominantly within hotel settings at the moment, but the post would work with individuals and families as this settlement becomes more dispersed.
They will be responsible for gathering information on services that can support individuals, identifying areas of needs within refugee and host families and support them to ‘link-in’ to services.
The post will lead on engaging more third sector organisations to support and host Community Payback Orders (CPOs)– community sentences – though the provision of information, toolkits and 1-1 guidance and training for organisations. The post will also support the ongoing development of the understanding of community justice within Highland and the importance of the role within rehabilitation and prevention that the third sector have.

This post will support two streams of work. Firstly supporting individuals into volunteering roles with a particular emphasis on one to one support for those struggling to navigate or secure a role through more traditional pathways. Secondly it will support volunteer involving organisations (VIOs) in the planning development and promotion of their volunteering programmes and roles.
In the first instance the role holder will advertise and support the promotion of roles within the Inner Moray Firth area. They will look at new ways to encourage individuals to volunteer and help promote the concept of volunteering to different groups in our communities. Secondly they will support organisations to ensure appropriate management of volunteers through the development of management systems, policies and cultures. They will provide advice, support and assistance on a one to one basis; promoting effective and supportive volunteer environments.

This new post will support a development of a buddy based training and development placement scheme, pairing individuals who have come through the justice system on a community sentence with buddy volunteers to help provide support and training, working to reduce the likelihood of their undertaking offending behaviour again. As an individual you will have to be someone who can work well with volunteers and people from complex and often chaotic backgrounds.
The Custody Link service are looking for a new member to join the small team based out from the custody suite in Inverness police station. The post is initially for 12 months with additional funding being actively sought. The post holder will be subject to full police vetting.
The Link Worker will work with individuals referred through the custody suite and link them into services and support that will help to reduce chaotic elements within their lives, support better outcomes and reduce their likelihood of offending.
The post will be one of a team of development officer posts specifically intended to work closely with Third Sector Organisations (TSOs) throughout the Inner Moray Firth and for resilience planning across Highland. This specific role will work with newly establishing TSOs and those needing support around their governance or strategic planning. Job Purpose
The post holder will support the delivery of the current and ambitious plan for LGOWIT, focusing on the regional planning and projects. They will have a key role in looking at the new proposals for LGOWIT to move towards becoming its own organisation and helping to secure a long term financial future for the new organisation.
The post holder will also take a responsible role for the wider promotion and education of self-management, assisting with the existing forum and service delivery as required by the organisation to reach its strategic ambitions.

The post will be one of a team of development officer posts across the organisation but with a regional remit specifically around supporting the management of funding distributed to the Third Sector by HTSI, as well as a source of support for the Sector in Highland around funding and fundraising.
Intermittently, HTSI act as a conduit for funding to the sector in Highland and to ensure that this is done fairly and efficiently, fully taking the opportunity to demonstrate the value and impact of the sector as a delivery mechanism, we are now looking to develop a dedicated role.
The post will be responsible for working with stakeholders, designing, managing and co-ordinating the implementation of funding processes. They will also have primary responsibility for drafting reports and providing assurance to the CO, HTSI Board and funding partners.
The post holder will be responsible for leading advice and guidance to the sector around fundraising ensuring that they are informed of the regulatory and legal information necessary. They will also support the development of training and reference material for a stronger Third Sector across the Highlands, including delivery of training, workshops and policy development relevant to the speciality areas connected with this post.
The post-holder will be part of a small team working nationally with the network of Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs) to improve equalities and human rights practice within the third sector. They’ll play a key role in delivering training, guidance and resources for TSIs and other third sector organisations.
The programme is funded by Scottish Government through the Equality and Human Rights Fund. To ensure national coverage different posts will be employed by Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector (GCVS), Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council (EVOC) and Highland Third Sector Interface (HTSI).

The post will join an existing team of two working 35 hrs a week on a shift pattern, to include evenings and a half day weekend shift on rotation.
