Engagement Catalyst

We are looking for someone to help our organisation connect with grassroots communities across rural and island Scotland. As Engagement Catalyst, you will build our member services, engaging proactively with our membership, especially those living in isolated rural and island communities, to inspire them, develop their skills and activism, and support them to influence the policy decisions that affect their daily lives.

You will also enable our members and other grassroots networks to engage with the Scottish Rural and Islands Parliament (SRIP) in November 2023, and with the European Rural Parliament which will be held in 2024.

This is a new role within the organisation and there is scope for you to shape the job and the activities you deliver to your own passions and areas of expertise.

Campaigns and Communications Officer

Are you passionate about rural and island life and about supporting community activism? Would you be happy working collaboratively in a small team of staff, volunteers and Trustees where everyone has significant autonomy over their area of work?

As Campaigns and Communications Officer, your role will be to amplify the voices of the rural and island grassroots. You will showcase rural and island expertise and activism and raise awareness amongst decision-makers – government departments and politicians - of the policy directions arising from the Scottish Rural Parliament and from other partnership work we engage in. You will also lead our campaigns, including our ongoing work calling for meaningful participation of rural and island communities in developing local and national policy.
