The Hub is currently going through some exciting changes, since we received National Lottery funding, and while the Board of Trustees are focusing on the strategic direction of the organisation, we require a manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of the community hub. This is a great opportunity to gain management experience or add to your leadership skills bringing local people together to deliver on our projects for the local community. We are looking for someone passionate to join us on a part - time basis for three years.
Who we are?
West Calder Hub is a SCIO which provides a range of education, social and leisure activities for the local community and surrounding areas.
What we do?
We offer an event space, with various rooms which can be hired ad hoc or regularly, which provide an income stream to the Hub.
We run a small fully equipped community gym.
Community Development – running groups and activities, for all members of the community, and bespoke events that bring people together.
Working in partnership with the West Calder & Harburn Community Development Trust, we run the Brunch Club Cafe and Community Shop offering low cost meals and snacks, in our community cafe and also through our local home delivery. External catering contracts can also be accommodated.
Our Community Shop offers low cost food and household items, currently supported by grants and donations.
We work closely with other organisations in our community to ensure that we remain up to date and are able provide creative support solutions to our service users and the community around us.
We have many volunteers, in addition to our employees, who help support our work and support the local community.

Job Summary
The Hub Centre Co-ordinator will be responsible for the effective management of the Hub in West Calder and implement the strategy for the Hub.
The role holder will apply for funding grants and manage ongoing applications and evaluation reports as required, supported by the Board of Trustees.
The role holder will manage and lead a small team, and the job entails working collaboratively with our volunteers, service users, West Lothian Council colleagues, stakeholders and partners.
We’ll expect you’re comfortable with a collaborative work style. You need to be competent in using Microsoft Office suite (especially Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams). You should be flexible and organised.
This role holder will be expected to attend our monthly Board meetings.
