As our Learning and Development Officer you’ll use your passion for nursing and your positivity to deliver an exceptional service to our members across Scotland.
In this diverse role, you will get involved in a wide range of projects and activities including delivering a varied programme of workshops and events for Registered Nurses and Health Care Support Workers or engaging with students at colleges and universities across Scotland.
This is an opportunity for you to use your extensive nursing experience to support the Learning & Development Team in Scotland develop innovative ways of meeting the learning and development needs of our members.

To get the most out of this role you will be a registered nurse, have sound facilitation and development skills and thrive on team work. You must be willing to actively engage and network with key stakeholders and represent the interests of the RCN at a number of levels. You’ll relish finding creative and innovative ways to engage and support people in learning and development across Scotland.
You will have experience of supporting the design, delivery and evaluation of programmes of learning and development and also experience of using a range of learning approaches with adult learners both face to face and online. We are a member led organisation, so we will want you to share our commitment to working with frontline care staff to develop practical and meaningful learning and development solutions.

Could you help the RCN transform Scottish health and social care policy to improve care?

You’ll have experience of working collaboratively to influence policy makers and you’ll be able to demonstrate that you can research, write and present persuasive policy and will have a good understanding of the key Scottish issues in health and social care and how the Scottish Government works.
You’ll be passionate about engaging with experts to develop your understanding and working creatively to engage people in shaping policy. You’ll also enjoy focusing on complex analysis of research, statistics and other intelligence.
