Role Purpose
The Learning Coordinator works across all organisational departments to support and deliver the structured learning, training and apprenticeship programmes for members and volunteers of all ages. The role is responsible for supporting a balanced training programme, which offers opportunities for accredited employability outcomes and soft skills.
The Learning coordinator works with the Learning & Development manager and Social Enterprise team to guide clear pathways for learners, including referral routes internally and through to external positive outcomes and destinations. The role is responsible for supporting communications with training organisations to further expand learning opportunities. The Learning Coordinator will also support the Members service team in the engagement and support of Members through all aspects of the programme, and delivery of activities/sessions as appropriate.

We are looking for a committed and motivated Finance Manager to have responsibility for overseeing the finance function and financial governance of our organisation.
Established since 2010, The Grassmarket Community Project is medium sized charity, incorporating income generating social enterprises, that supports over 400 people a year in transition, in recovery or who face deep social exclusion, isolation and homelessness.
The Finance Manager will provide an efficient and effective finance function, business support, best practice, and good governance for the organisation, and ensure reliable and accurate financial records are maintained and reports are compiled regularly to assist the CEO, Senior Management Team and the Board of Directors to plan and execute spending and measure performance against targets and budgets. The post holder will be required to work from the office, home and attend meetings.
The role of the Finance Manager is critical to our success. This post holders’ skills and experience will enable us to ensure ongoing good financial management, governance, due diligence, strategic planning as well as ensuring finance administrative systems are effective, best value to support our work and future sustainability. Above all, the work of the Finance Manager will support the charity to transform the lives of many of our city’s most vulnerable.

Are you a great communicator with a passion for inclusive communities and social enterprise?
We’re looking for a part-time Fundraiser, 2 days per week, to complete grant applications and undertake fundraising activities to help the Grassmarket Community Project (GCP) flourish.
The GCP is based at the Grassmarket Centre on Candlemaker Row in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. The role is flexible and can be mostly carried out from home and tailored to you current life or work commitments. Ideally you will be able to visit to learn about and enjoy the community’s wide range of activities, events and support. An appropriate working pattern can be agreed.
We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills to best present our community to prospective and existing funders, donors and friends. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for applying and reporting on grant funding and managing existing and prospective funder and donor relations. As part of the team, the role may also involve community fundraising initiatives, partnerships (e.g. groups undertaking sponsored events, or corporate firms), and delivering talks to visiting groups and supporters involving a wide variety of different needs and abilities. You will be able to work on your own initiative, manage deadlines and prioritise your workload to take advantage of opportunities as they arise.

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a communications professional or graduate with experience in media or marketing who would value the opportunity to develop their skills and take on more responsibility in an autonomous position where they will have the opportunity to shape the role. Equally it may suit a more experienced professional wanting to take on a part-time position within the charity sector to fit in with other activities and complement the desire for a flexible working lifestyle.
The Communications & Marketing Officer will support the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to help promote GCP across a variety of internal and external channels.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual that can manage the part-time role effectively, taking on a range of tasks to support the team and ultimately promote and celebrate the services, achievements and social enterprises of GCP to increase awareness, raise our profile and assist with income generation. As this is a 15 hour per week role, the ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter who, whilst being fully supported by a close-knit team, can use their initiative to drive our key communications channels.
Tasks will include the development and delivery of a Communications Plan, generating content and managing social media channels and website, copywriting, drafting press releases, developing promotional materials and event and fundraising support. An eye for detail and a can-do, positive attitude are essential. This role would suit someone who is very organised, can multi-task effectively and who has their finger on the pulse for new and exciting opportunities to promote GCP.

Our project is based in the heart of the Old Town in Edinburgh, in the Grassmarket. We work with over 500 people a year and deliver on average 800 hours of support per month.
Grassmarket Furniture is our oldest and most established social enterprise. We supply furniture commissions to a wide range of customers from the private, public and third sector and to private individuals. Most of our furniture is made using recycled wood, mostly church pews which we collect from all over the UK, as well as local sustainably sourced timber from windfall tree or trees felled for development. We make anything the customer requires from lamps, award trophies, chopping boards to shop fits, bars and dining room sets. Our prices have ranged from £20 for a candle holder to £5,000 for one table. Our woodwork turnover exceeds over £100k a year and supports a range of vulnerable adults, around 60 a year, who volunteer daily or once a week or are paid apprentices (completing SQA’s) or people on supported employment.
We are looking an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Workshop Manager who can contribute to the production of furniture and training of beginner level woodworkers, for our flagship social enterprise. Candidates must have a joinery or cabinet-making qualification, or equivalent on the job training, and experience in a professional joinery workshop.
The workshop is staffed largely by trainees and volunteers who are vulnerable adults. Candidates must have experience, or be able to work with people from all walks of life, have empathy for colleagues with support needs, and a willing to listen and learn with compassionate and non-judgemental attitude.
Duties will include:
· Support of vulnerable individuals.
· Manufacturing of commissioned furniture.
· Teaching of basic woodwork, furniture making skills, health & safety and general life skills.
· Keeping a safe workshop at all times.
· Working with current customers, co-managing order book and priorities.
· Help with sourcing recycled timber, and reprocessing this for furniture production.

We are looking for someone to join our multi-award-winning social enterprise charity with excellent people skills. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills to best present our community to prospective volunteers as well as communicate policies and procedures that keep our Volunteers safe and hold them to account. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for reporting on Volunteer achievements and outcomes for the project as well training hours, training feedback and any wider improvements that can be made to the Volunteer’s experience in the Grassmarket Community Project.
As part of the team, the role may also involve community fundraising initiatives, collaboration with other team members, students on placement and any other task. We are a small team with a broad remit. This is achieved by having a flexible, creative and supportive approach to how we operate and support people. You will be able to work on your own initiative, be monitored periodically, identify your own learning and support needs as well as prioritise your workload to take advantage of opportunities as they arise.
