Top job! Chair of the Board of Trustees

The Chair will facilitate and lead the Board of Trustees in overseeing the execution of LGBT Health and Wellbeing’s mission and vision. The Chair will provide inclusive and collegiate leadership to the Board of Trustees and working with all Trustees and the Company Secretary to ensure that the individual members of the Board fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity. The Chair will also provide support and constructive challenge to the Chief Executive through acting as line manager for that post. They will act as an ambassador and the public face of the charity in partnership with the Chief Executive. Anticipated time commitment is approximately 7 hours per month (variable, as required) which includes 6 or 7 Board meetings a year, Annual General Meeting and support and supervision for Chief Executive, attendances at Board sub-committees and ad hoc meetings/engagements.

Admin Assistant

We are seeking to recruit a suitably experienced and enthusiastic person to help us deliver our services.

Service Manager (Maternity cover)

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic manager to help us deliver a range of community wellbeing projects.

This post represents a unique opportunity to play a key role within the organisation. We have an ambitious vision, a strong focus on addressing health inequalities, improving mental health and reducing social isolation. We take a community development approach, and seek to involve volunteers extensively in the delivery our projects.

The main purpose of the role is to:

• Be responsible for managing a range of small projects delivered from our Glasgow office.

• Work with the Service Manager based in Edinburgh to oversee the work of our Rainbow Families work delivered across Glasgow and Edinburgh.

• Contribute to the development of the wider organisation though involvement in the operational management group.

The post holder will manage a number of part-time staff (currently 6 postholders), as well as overseeing the management of sessional staff and volunteers.

Policy and Influencing Manager

LGBT Health exists to promote health, wellbeing and equality and ensure that LGBT adults get the services and support they need. Our policy and influencing work aims to transform systems and services; to raise awareness across sectors; promote public and political understanding of the lives of LGBT people; and to communicate evidence of what works in relation to making positive and lasting improvements in the lives and experiences of LGBT adults by addressing health inequalities, disadvantage and access barriers.

We are seeking an experienced policy professional with demonstrable experience of working with service providers, politicians and civil servants to be our first Policy and Influencing Manager.

Working within the management team, the successful candidate will work across the organisation to produce evidence based policy and research that puts the voice of our service users at its heart.

The post holder will manage and develop LGBT Health’s policy and influence work to enable the organisation to be an effective influencer and continue to strengthen our national voice in relation to LGBT health, wellbeing and equality.

The Policy Manager will have an excellent understanding of public policy frameworks and processes in Scotland, as well as strong relationship building, influencing and communication skills. Experience of engaging service users in the development of policy is essential, as is the ability to research and analyse diverse materials. We are seeking a self-starter, who is strongly committed to LGBT equality, able to establish and develop our policy and influence work, develop positions and represent us to key service providers, policy makers, politicians, researchers and other stakeholders.

The post holder will be based in our offices in Edinburgh, though there will be regular travel to our offices in Glasgow for meetings. The post holder will be required to work flexibly, including some evening and occasional weekend work
