  • Closing 3rd August 2020

Are you looking for a strategic opportunity to get involved with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community in Scotland? Do you want to make a difference to the lives of LGBT people?

LGBT Health and Wellbeing is seeking to recruit new Trustees to govern the organisation. Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the charity is well-managed in line with its vision and mission and that it abides by its charitable objectives. The Board plays an important role for the organisation and is key to our continuing success in delivering vital services for the LGBT community as well as our ever-developing role as a key policy influencer in Scotland.

The organisation promotes the health, wellbeing and equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Scotland. It provides support, services and information to improve health and wellbeing, reduce social isolation and stimulate community development and volunteering.

If this opportunity excites you whether you are an LGBT person or someone committed to equality and human rights, we welcome your application to join our Board of Directors. This is a fantastic way for you to gain new experiences and skills, meet new people and connect with your community.

While not exclusive we are currently seeking people with skills in fundraising, campaigning, marketing & communications, third sector management, mental health and public service design and delivery, which would be helpful in complementing the Board’s existing skills base. Additionally, we are looking to welcome interest from groups underrepresented on the Board, people identifying as women, bisexual, trans and non-binary, black & ethnic minority, and people with disabilities of all ages would be particularly welcome.

We provide a regular rolling programme of induction and ongoing training for all volunteers including trustees.
