Senior Care Assistant (part time)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Care Assistant post which will be introduced within Viewpoint later in the year.

Applicants should have at least one years’ experience, hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care and a Supervisor and Leadership award and willing to undertake an internal structured training program for Senior Care Assistants.

If you are successful you will be required to join the PVG Scheme - Viewpoint will cover this for you.

Viewpoint are now recruiting a Care Home Manager following the internal promotion of the current incumbent after 10 years.

The well-established 63 bedded home, has two frail older people units and a specialist Dementia Unit as well as a small specialist unit for older people with behaviour that challenges. The home is consistently graded 5 by the Care Inspectorate. A planned programme of improvements is ongoing, as we continue to develop the environment for our present and future residents, families and staff.

The role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to take over the management of this highly regarded progressive home, situated in the leafy residential Grange area of Edinburgh. The manager is supported by a full time supernumery deputy manager, who has also worked in the Care Home for a number of years. The Care Home has an established work force of Charge Nurses, Nurses, Senior Carers, Carers and ancillary staff who work together to deliver a quality, person centred service to our residents.

Requirements:

• RGN/RMN & RMA (Level 4 or 5)

• Current NMC Registration

• Working knowledge of Care Inspectorate Registration and Regulation

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Registered Manager/Deputy

Viewpoint is Scotland’s oldest housing association and is unique in that it has both care homes and sheltered housing. Viewpoint’s focus is to Create Joy in Later Years by managing a range of supported housing and care services for older people in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife. It all started back in 1947 and their goals are the same today as they’ve always been - to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of their tenants and residents by encouraging independence, enabling choice and offering peace of mind in a safe and supported environment.

Viewpoint is now looking for a new Chief Executive who will provide strategic leadership and direction to the organisation and staff. The new leader will work closely with Viewpoint’s Board to develop strategy and deliver improvements and efficiencies, whilst ensuring customers remain at the forefront of each business decision. This role will provide a platform for influencing change and innovation within the care and housing sector; strengthening the link between the two service areas is vital. Creating positive change and developing the services will greatly impact the lives of many, including the friends and family of Viewpoint customers.

The successful candidate will embrace the mission of Creating Joy in Later Years, and hold a passion for improving care and housing services. The appointed candidate will inspire, innovate and evidence an excellent track record of leading and managing people. Experience of working with a range of key stakeholders, including the board, to ensure delivery of excellent service as well as maximising the use of assets and supporting growth.

This is a key appointment within housing and care in Scotland – Viewpoint’s long history and heritage makes it one of the most respected housing associations and care providers in the country. This role will be based in the Edinburgh office, with the scenic backdrop of Blackford Hill.
