Girlguiding Scotland is recruiting for a PR and Policy Officer who would report to the Marketing and Communications Officer at our HQ in Edinburgh.
The PR and policy officer will work to broaden our appeal so we can grow and enable even more girls to benefit from the fantastic opportunities Girlguiding offers. We make sure girls’ voices are heard on the issues that really matter to them and empower girls to make positive change.
The PR and policy officer will be responsible for developing and managing the delivery of an ambitious PR strategy to promote our values, mission and vision. They will also be responsible for delivering our ambitious advocacy strategy to increase the influence of the charity as a leading voice for girls’ empowerment and, our brand reputation.
The post holder must have experience of developing and delivering high impact, creative PR strategies to engage key audiences. They should be able to produce high-quality and newsworthy press materials, such as press releases, statements and opinion articles. They will also need to have strong experience in advocacy or influencing work and extensive knowledge of relevant public policy context in Scotland and across the UK.
You should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
We are looking to recruit a full-time Development Worker to work with Girlguiding Edinburgh to grow youth provision in targeted areas of the city by opening new Girlguiding units for girls age 10+.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and proactive to develop, support and deliver area-specific growth plans which will focus on recruiting and placing new adult and young members You’ll also support pathways for girls to move through Girlguiding’s sections. You will also support existing Guide (10-14) and Ranger (14-18) units to expand the opportunities they are able to offer through the promotion of CashBack Grow and other Girlguiding funding programmes.

Girlguiding Scotland is recruiting for a senior manager to take on responsibility of all operations at Netherurd, Girlguiding Scotland’s national activity and training centre. You’ll also share in responsibility with senior management team colleagues based at our headquarters in Edinburgh for overall business targets and performance.
You’ll manage all of the operational requirements, the facilities and our beautiful 30 acre estate.We’re looking for someone with fantastic customer service and the ability to motivate and lead a team. You’ll be responsible for leading the staff team to achieve annual business performance targets and will proactively contribute to plans to further develop this important asset of Girlguiding Scotland
You’ll work in partnership with lead volunteers and provide professional support for the delivery of a wide range of projects and exciting events for our members across Scotland. There can be several projects running at one time so this role requires someone with strong organisational skills, delegation and project management skills.
Main areas of responsibility
You’ll coordinate the whole process for effective event delivery to a project timeline and within budget and liaise with the communications team to make sure events like Tartan Gig, our exclusive concert for 10,000 members, are promoted. You will ensure our booking processes run smoothly and monitor detailed budgets for the events.
The successful candidate will also support the Generation Cashback project which aims to increase opportunities for young people in areas of need in Scotland.
