National Training Manager

About the Role:

This is an exciting new role for the organisation to expand our reach into wider networks, to raise awareness of mental health and encourage help-seeking behaviour to keep people well and prevent distress and crises.

The Training Manager will develop, lead and deliver bespoke mental health training and awareness sessions to a wide and diverse range of customers, clients and stakeholders across Scotland, including employers, colleges, public sector bodies or small groups and organisations who want to improve how they interact with their employees, customers or clients. As well as delivering high quality training and learning opportunities, an important outcome of the training is to generate unrestricted income for SiMS.

Who are we looking for?

To succeed in this role, you will have a sound understanding of mental health issues, including serious mental illness and some knowledge of mental health policy and practice across the country. You will have a training background, and able to demonstrate hands-on experience of delivering training to a high standard.

You will be able to engage with people who may be distressed or anxious and help them to talk about sensitive issues. Whilst working as part of the Support in Mind Scotland team, you will also have autonomy to develop this new role.

This role also includes generating income and you will ideally have some experience of costing and marketing training materials and courses.

Although our National Office is in Edinburgh, we can be flexible with where the person is located to ensure we find the ideal person. We are also a family-friendly and carer-friendly organisation and value applications from people who have lived experience of living with mental health issues.

The post is full time, working 35 hours per week. We are happy to talk about adjusting these hours for the suitable candidate.

Senior Administrator

We are seeking to recruit an Office Administrator, to join our small and friendly team and take responsibility for the efficient day-to-day running of SiMS National Office.

Working closely with colleagues across Scotland, you will have experience of successfully running a small office and of providing a comprehensive administrative, finance and human resources support.

Who are we looking for?

An all-rounder, you will be an experienced office professional with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, who relishes the diverse duties and busy working environment characteristic of small offices.

As the Office Administrator, you will ensure that our work is carried out efficiently and to a professional standard, providing practical support and assistance to staff members, Board of Directors and volunteers across the organisation.

You will have a specific role to assist with the HR and Finance functions, carrying out duties attached to these roles to maximise the capacity and efficiency of the core team.

The role on offer is for a full time position working 5 days a week. We are happy to talk about adjusting these hours for the suitable candidate.
