We aim to encourage and enable parents across Scotland to make the most of the opportunities available to them so they can flourish as happy, healthy and achieving families. One Parent Families Scotland provides help to all single parent families: mums, dads, young parents and kinship carers.
The purpose of the role is to ensure accurate records of all financial transactions in relation to payroll.
Terms & Conditions
1. Period of appointment: Permanent
2. Salary: £22,100-£27,012 per annum, pro rata
3. Hours of work: 14
4. Holidays: Annual leave entitlement is 25 days and 12 public holidays pro rata based on your contracted hours of 14 per week.
5. Pension: If eligible you will be auto-enrolled in our Pension Scheme. Your contribution will be 3% and OPFS will contribute 7%
6. Training, support and supervision: You will receive induction training and frequent support in the first three months. Thereafter you will receive monthly individual support and supervision and annual appraisals.

OPFS Edinburgh supports single parents with a range of issues that affect their ability to play a full part in the economic and social life of their communities. As part of that mission, the Edinburgh Lone Fathers Project helps single and separated fathers who might find it difficult to engage with mainstream services.
We aim to support fathers and children to enhance their relationships, reduce isolation by fostering peer support, offer opportunities to engage in outdoor and physical activities, and provide information and activities that help fathers learn more about low cost resources available to them and their children.
This post will include working on behalf of children who are, or are being placed, in the full-primary care of their father and ensure that the family have the support and skills to grow and develop to meet their full potential.
OPFS are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and self-motivated Trusts Fundraiser to join our team and help us achieve our vision of a Scotland in which single parents and their children are valued and treated equally and fairly.
The Employability Support Worker will be responsible to the Dundee Services Manager and will work in collaboration with Dundee Pathway Consortium (DPC) partner organisations to provide employability services for single parents with disabilities and mental health conditions in Dundee
Key responsibilities include:
Case Management: Support single parents with disabilities and mental health conditions, using case management methods, to provide a continuum of consistent support on their employability pathway journey into sustained employment.
Families: Help eligible single parents to identify their future goals, assess motivation, develop personal development plans and help in their implementation through individual and group work.
Barriers: Identify barriers to employment and work with single parents with disabilities and mental health conditions to address those barriers.
Liaison:Building links with organisations and groups throughout Dundee, to identify eligible single parents interested in progressing towards employment.
Outreach & Engagement: Undertake activities in communities to actively reach eligible single parents as a basis to support their learning and development and engage them in action to support change within their lives.
Work/Vocational Activities & Training:Coordinate and deliver a range of activities to enable single parents with disabilities and mental health conditions to develop core knowledge and skills to increase their employability potential.
Job Matching: Refer job ready single parents to support within the consortium to help with job searching, interviews, securing and sustaining employment.
In Work Support:Provide single parents with disabilities and mental health conditions with continued support whilst in employment to help sustain their jobs.
Local services: Develop knowledge of services related to employment, training, education, childcare and other support. Develop an effective network of referral agencies to support clients' needs.
Signpost:single parents to services that will address their needs.
Money Advice:Liaise with money advice workers and the single parent helpline to offer better off calculations and access to debt counselling support.
Marketing: To implement the marketing and promotion strategy for the service.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Ensure effective recording, monitoring and evaluation procedures are implemented.

Essential Experience and Knowledge:
The Family Support Worker will be responsible to the Services Manager of the Dundee Family Support Services for the direct delivery of services to single parent families to improve the following outcomes:
Parents will be better informed.Through educating parents, building confidence, autonomy and resilience, single parents and their families will feel better able to manage challenges and barriers and develop their own lives resulting in problem resolution, positive and sustainable change.
Parenting and child development worries will be minimised. Improved parental coping strategies for managing stress, wellbeing and mental health issues will mean parents will have improved parenting strategies to improve supportive family relationships, security, and stability for children.
Social isolation will be minimised through increasing community engagement which will enable parents and families to develop their social skills and peer support. Families will widen their social circles of support through attendance at our activities and in their wider community and city.
Parents will be included and have a voice.They will be valued and supported to meaningfully participate in shaping OPFS Dundee Family Support Services, ensuring they have the space and time to share their experience and expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
Family support: Provide support to meet the needs of single parents and their families as early as possible, and at an appropriate level, by delivering individual and group-based support to single parents/families, through home visiting, service based and community engagement/ outreach support.
Advice and Information: Ensure single parents have access to information that they trust, is relevant to their needs and helps them make informed decisions.
Developing Potential:Help single parents to identify their future goals, develop action plans and support their implementation.
Assessment of need:Participate in multi-agency forums as part of formal and informal packages of support.
Service Development: Developing and delivering services to meet the identified needs of single parents, children, and families.
Networking: Developing and maintaining effective links with local agencies relevant to single parents, including developing and delivering joint services to families/parents as appropriate.
Resource Materials:Identifying/producing relevant materials to use in parental and family support and development work.
Representation: Represent the Family Support Services and One Parent Families Scotland on relevant forums and committees. Encourage and support parent participation where appropriate.
Record keeping and evaluation: Maintaining agency records and conducting regular evaluations of work to ensure aims and outcomes are being met. This will include partnership working with parents, families and other stakeholders.
Other Duties:Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Services Manager.
