The HR Booth are delighted to be recruiting an Operations Manager on behalf of Spinal Injuries Scotland
We are looking for an Operations Manager to lead all aspects of the day to day operations of the charity. The
Operations Manager will be part of the Senior Leadership Team of the charity, therefore, it is essential they
have excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate our team and continue to build on services with
its stakeholder and members in mind. This is a wide and varied role which will involve a great understanding of
detail and ensuring that every area is operating smoothly and efficiently.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting, managing, and training staff on a daily basis.
- Support the CEO and Board of Trustees with
the Strategy and create and deliver an operations plan for the organisation.
- Responsible for the budgets
for allocated projects.
- Review website and social media platforms to ensure they are updated daily with
relevant and new content.
- Support volunteers and group members with any safeguarding concerns in line
with Spinal Injuries Scotland’s policies.
- Identify training and development opportunities for employees,
volunteers, ensuring personal development is recorded as per policy.
- Direct the work of projects with
responsibility for assigning work, checking results, controlling costs, and handling staff or making
recommendations.
- Oversee the reporting to funders on projects and apply for new grant
funding.
- Ensure that all records, policies, procedures are up to date including staff handbook using our
Breathe HR platform.
- Improve operational management systems, processes, and best
practices.
- Supporting planning and ensure that key performance indicators (KPIs) are in place and
targets are met in line with aims and funding.
- Examine financial data and use them to improve
profitability.
- Overall responsibility for the production of the magazine, Spinal Life.
- Prepare a
monthly report of progress for the CEO for the Board of Trustees.
- Approve charity expenses of staff and
volunteers.
- Deliver presentations on the work of SIS where and when required.
Person Requirements:
- In depth knowledge and active experience of fundraising.
- Requires advanced theoretical, practical, and
procedural and policy knowledge of the charity sector and/or 5 years relevant work experience in similar
role.
- Organisational skills

- Be able to travel at least once a month to oversee our services in Scotland
As this is a remote role that requires visitation to various sites, the ability to travel is essential.
