Podiatrist

We are seeking a qualified Podiatrist to provide podiatry services to patients within the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre (BWoSCC) and Beatson related facilities within the Queen Elizabeth University, New Victoria, Royal Alexandra and Royal Infirmary hospitals. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry, certified by a recognised teaching organisation. It would be an advantage to have a qualification in Reflexology, Reiki or other Complementary therapies at Diploma, HND, SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide podiatry services to patients and family members within BWoSCC and at Beatson related facilities;
  • Provide advice to patients on foot care during their cancer treatment;
  • Ensure provision of treatments to the highest standards of quality and care;
  • Demonstrate compassion and understanding of the challenges facing cancer patients;
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of podiatry in relation to the care of cancer patients with active, progressive and advanced disease;

The role

Our philanthropy approach recognises the close synergies and inter-relationships between all high-value donor fundraising streams and unites traditional disciplines in a progressive and integrated manner where the major donor discipline is the overarching methodology.

The role may appeal to a Foundations or Grant-seeker specialist who wishes to take their already advanced skills to the next level by developing the ability and confidence to artfully work with major donors and senior volunteers. Equally it could appeal to a Major Donor specialist who wishes to hone their skills in working with institutional grant-makers and developing compelling funding proposals.

Minimum requirements for the post holder:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Commitment to the aims of the Beatson Cancer Charity and to meeting the needs of people affected by cancer.
  • Demonstrable track record of success in fundraising from foundations and other grantmakers and/or securing gifts from individuals.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, co-ordinate and issue media and photo releases, briefing materials and features

Our care services comprise of a comprehensive range of wellbeing and specialist services including complementary therapies, podiatry, hair and beauty, welcome and wellbeing support and specialist health and work support delivered by staff and volunteers throughout The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and in 6 satellite hospitals across the West of Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Care Services will have strategic and management responsibility for all Beatson Cancer Charity care services, staff and volunteers. The Director of Care Services will lead, develop, and implement a strategy for all direct care and volunteer service activities.

The postholder will provide leadership, direction and support to managers and staff in their area of responsibility. Furthermore, the postholder will be responsible for managing, monitoring and evaluating service delivery and ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of all activities.
