The Job
Short Term Housing Support
Support Workers in the Fife Support Services, Short Term Housing Support are responsible for delivering a housing support service for up to 6 months to enable people to sustain their tenancy and live as independently as possible in their own homes.
It is the Support Workers responsibility to develop effective relationships with people affected by a range of challenges, support them to cope in difficult times and enable them to live a good life. In doing so, to provide emotional, practical and social support to help people to live as independently as possible and make informed choices in all aspects of their lives.

Support Workers in the Fife Support Service, Long Term Care at Home are responsible for delivering a visiting care at home service to enable people to live as independently as possible in their own homes (which may include prompting of personal care and medication, where required, and help to enable people to develop practical household skills).
The post holder will provide emotional support, to assist people to take part in activities that matter to them and help them engage with their community to reduce social isolation.
It is the Support Workers responsibility to develop effective relationships with people affected by a range of challenges, support them to cope in difficult times and enable them to live a good life. In doing so, to provide emotional, practical and social support to help people to live as independently as possible and make informed choices in all aspects of their lives.
As a Support Worker in this service, you will support and assist service users to maximise their income and benefits. This might involve liaising with other agencies that may be involved with the service user, advocating on their behalf and accessing professional help if required and appropriate. In addition, you will support service users to cope with the responsibilities of a tenancy and help them take responsibility for the safety of themselves and their home.

Sacro’s mission is to deliver life-changing services that empower people, give hope and protection, and help to build safe communities.
We are looking for 2 x Women’s Support Workers from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds to deliver direct practical support interventions for Sacro’s new Aditi Women’s Wellbeing Service in partnership with Multi Cultural Family Base (MCFB). You must have experience of cross-cultural work, be an effective communicator in English as well as in another language prevalent in Scotland’s Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, highly organised and have effective casework management skills.
You will be responsible for delivering direct support and mentoring interventions to BAME women affected by domestic abuse and Honour-Based Violence (HBV) and for maintaining accurate case notes. You will operate within the Scottish Government’s Equally Safe Strategy as well as Sacro’s policies and procedures and will escalate any safety/well-being concerns around adult and child protection to the Service Co-ordinator/Service Manager. You will be responsible for monitoring women’s well-being throughout their journey within the service and for making appropriate follow-on referrals to relevant services. You will also be required to organise, deliver and participate in group community activities.

Muirshiel Centre (Adult Day Care) was established in 1991 as a local charity (Registered Charity No sco18185) and is managed by a voluntary Board of Directors who represent our local community. The Centre’s day to day operations overseen by a service manager supported by a staff team of professionally trained individuals dedicated to the care and support of our service users. Thank you for your interest in applying to become a Member of the Lothian Pension Fund’s (LPF) Pensions Committee, which is hosted by its administering authority the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC). As one of our Pensions Committee Members, you would play an essential role in ensuring that the pension fund has strong governance in place now and in the future.
Acting in the best interests of the members and employer bodies of the pension funds, the Pensions Committee (Committee) exercises oversight of LPF and, for example, determines the overall policy objectives and strategy, and monitors the overall performance of LPF and the Scottish Homes Pension Fund in accordance with its separate statutory remit. It also, for example, oversees the effective management and administration of pension funds and determines the strategy for the investment of pension fund monies.
We are seeking applications for the Committee’s two external, non-elected, member seats. One of these is drawn from LPF’s membership and the other from LPF’s employer bodies.
Although each member is sourced from those stakeholder groups, importantly they will be required to act in accordance with their separate duty to all the stakeholders of the pension funds collectively and are not appointed to represent one particular group.
About LPF
LPF administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) in Edinburgh and the Lothians and is one of the largest pension funds in the UK. We’re a multi-employer scheme with around £10 billion assets and are over 157% funded as at our most recent actuarial valuation serving 79,000 records attributable to 81,500 members from 67 employers across a broad range of sectors.
We also manage the Scottish Homes Pension Fund on behalf of the Scottish Government. This is a closed fund and has 1,550 deferred and pensioner members with £0.16 billion investments.
LPF is unique in Scotland in operating an established FCA regulated in-house investment team. We manage over 85% of the fund’s assets via internal equity, bond and other real asset portfolios (e.g. infrastructure, property and timberland investments).
We also work closely with other LGPS funds delivering investment management and strategic investment advisory services across their portfolios (e.g. equities, bonds, private markets, and listed and indirect property investments).
In March 2017, we became the first UK LGPS awarded accreditation for the Pensions Administration Standards Association and we’re proud to have held the Customer Service Excellence Award for over fifteen years.
The day-to-day running of LPF is carried out by a specialist team who undertake pension administration, accounting and investment functions.
