We are looking to recruit a Young People’s Worker to work 18 hours per week. You will play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people you work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on each young person's progress. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care. We support young people who have epilepsy, need personal care and need gastrostomy feeding. Aberlour, in conjunction with NHS, provides all staff with training.
We are looking for candidates who have a passion for working with young people with disabilities. It is desired but not essential that candidates hold a relevant qualification at an SCQF level 7 or above. We are looking to recruit a Residential Worker to join our team in Inverness, you will work 37.5 hours per week working in a residential house which is home for up to five young people. We have a core team of Residential Workers who support our young people, helping them to achieve and overcome the challenges they face. At Aberlour, we believe that every child deserves the change to flourish regardless of their background and the circumstances that have brought them to live with Aberlour. The children we support are presently not able to live safely with their own families and many of them have suffered from trauma and loss in their young lives. Working therapeutically with the young people, using a Dyadic Developmental approach, our aim is to help the young people to develop their confidence and self-worth and therefore to maximise their potential and opportunities for living fulfilled and happy lives. As a Residential Worker, you will play a fundamental role in ensuring that our young people are working towards their goals through supporting them with different daily activities. These activities can include college, different hobbies and attending fun groups. Not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role.
This service operates a residential rota and, as part of this, you will be expected to work evenings, weekends, nights and public holidays. Shifts are set on a monthly basis and follow a rolling pattern, however may be altered to suit the needs of the service.

Linlithgow Young People’s Project (LYPP) is a youth charity working with young people from all backgrounds in Linlithgow and surrounding villages. Formed in 1990 by a partnership of local churches, LYPP's aim is to foster a sense of 'hope' in the lives of young people by creating engaging and encouraging spaces for them to grow!
LYPP’s work revolves around 5 key areas, Informal Drop-in, Health and Wellbeing, Schools Work, Holiday Programmes and Youth Volunteering. Each year, LYPP works with around 1000 young people from the age of 5 to 25, with our core presence being amongst those of secondary school age many of whom are from areas of deprivation. LYPP has grown significantly since its inception, partnering with the community, churches, and other local service providers to deliver barrier free and innovative youth work.
This year we are looking to expand our team and take on a new dedicated youth worker to run our informal drop-in activities and holiday and events programme. If you would like to join our small and dedicated team at an exciting stage of our project, please read on!
About the role
We are looking for a youth worker, with a minimum of 3 year’s experience, who is ready to take on this exciting role of developing our current drop-in provision within Linlithgow and Bridgend and explore the possibility of expanding this provision to Winchburgh. You will be required to coordinate, create and deliver informal youth work programmes in our drop-in spaces including topic-based sessions in consultation with young people. You will be expected to lead a small team of sessional staff and volunteers and develop exciting programmes for young people to be a part of.
The successful applicant with be responsible for coordinating our holiday programme throughout the February, Easter, Summer and October school holidays and take a lead on our community events in conjunction with young people and external partners. This will involve working with the wider LYPP team, managing waiting lists, and ensuring each event is safe and fun for all participants.
Applicants will be required to work within a set budget, creating risk assessments, advertising events on social media, and liaising with partner organisations and parents when needed. The successful applicant will become part of a dynamic and supportive team and will work collaboratively on their own projects as well as lending support to others.
Midlothian Young Peoples Advice Service (MYPAS) promotes the health and wellbeing of young people across East Lothian and Midlothian and currently focuses on working in the areas of mental health and substance use. MYPAS is a community-based organisation with charitable status and based in Dalkeith.
The postholder will be responsible for providing counselling with children and young people aged 10-18 who reside in Midlothian. The postholder will assist in establishing, developing, delivering, evaluating and reporting on, the School Counselling service.
Qualified to Diploma level in a Counselling therapeutic discipline, a member of a recognised professional body (either BACP or COSCA) and have experience of working with children and young people, you will also be committed to delivering a service according to best practice and within community settings.
The postholder will work within a multi-disciplinary environment and work effectively with other agencies, especially schools, in partnership settings.
MYPAS will deliver a School Counselling service across Midlothian. MYPAS is providing this service on a contract basis for Midlothian Council.

YoMo’s Walk & Talk service is looking for a new support officer, this post is funded for 6 months but has been included in the next 3 years funding application.
