About the Role
Working within the Digital Applications and Analytics Department, the postholder will work with the Intercollegiate Surgeons eLogbook, undertaking data analysis and reporting tasks.
There may be requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills
This is a superb opportunity for an individual who is confident, methodical, organised and conscientious.
Holding a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Healthcare Informatics) you will be able to demonstrate strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
You will have the ability to work in a cross functional team delivering the eLogbook service and have an excellent understanding or relational and other data structures. You will collaborate with external intercollegiate bodies to further the knowledge and insights around surgical training in the UK.
You will have excellent communication and team working skills.

Overall Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to facilitate the delivery of our Young People’s Leadership Academies and to be alongside participants as they realise their true potential.

We are seeking a dynamic, visionary and dedicated Chair as we embark on a new and exciting chapter at the Book Festival. We are looking for someone who embodies our values and will act as a credible ambassador for the Festival whilst being able to lead the Board, motivate external support, and inspire the team.
A willingness to fully commit time to the role is necessary as well as the ability to approach the many responsibilities as Chair with enthusiasm and professionalism. This will include, but not limited to: attending Board and Committee Meetings, keeping informal contact with Trustees, team members and stakeholders as well as attending events.
The Chair will serve an initial five-year term, with the potential for the role to be extended for a further three years, at the Board’s discretion.

We have also recently appointed a new CEO who has a vision to see us increase our work in the 5 local authorities we already work in and expand into new areas of Scotland where the needs of young people are greatest.

This exciting role will support young people from East Ayrshire to achieve employment and a positive future. Using WorkingRite’s work-based mentoring method and through the delivery of our in schools model Rite to Work; our Project Coordinators prepare young people for work placements with local businesses and support them in their placements while they learn new skills and gain confidence. It’s a simple model that works with large numbers of young people who complete the WorkingRite programme progressing to full time jobs or apprenticeships.

This exciting role will manage the delivery of the Rite to Work programme within secondary schools across our delivery areas. Developing the model across education authorities for growth and sustainability; the successful candidate will lead and inspire our team of Project Coordinators to deliver a comprehensive and quality programme which creates lasting impact for young school leavers.
This is a multifaceted role, that requires an ability to understand our on-ground delivery, whilst putting structures and processes in place that support the team in successfully delivering positives outcomes for the young people we support.
With significant investment recently received to grow Rite to Work, the ability to manage and engage and report on its progress internally and to key stakeholders including local authorities, education authorities and other key partners is key. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the organisational strategy forward and developing the Rite to Work programme as a recognised progression route for secondary school pupils across Scotland.

We have three 12 month, fixed term contract opportunities within our Knowledge and Learning team within the Scotland Directorate.
These are exciting opportunities to join our small team as a Knowledge and Learning Officer, working on a variety of projects to provide informed insight on a range of grant-making themes.
As part of our Knowledge and Learning Team here in Scotland, you will work alongside Funding, and Communication and Engagement teams, as well as Knowledge and Learning colleagues across the UK. The role is flexible and varied, responding to the needs of colleagues and stakeholders to lend research or policy expertise, facilitating engagement events and sharing findings and recommendations.
A key aim of this work is to gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative data from our funding programmes and the policy landscape to shape funding decisions and priorities.
You will be able to see the ‘bigger picture’ of our grant-making work and apply creative approaches to identify and embed learning across geographic and thematic areas.
You will have sound critical thinking, thematic analysis and research skills and an ability to convey effective, impactful information for a variety of audiences.
You will be sensitive to ethics in research design and implementation.
As part of the role you will host and facilitate learning events, both in person and online, and therefore you’ll have sound facilitation and networking skills. Occasionally you will have the opportunity to work with grant-holders, external partners and other funders, requiring excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
You will be collaborative in nature and enjoy working proactively and in partnership with colleagues across the fund. An open, supportive and flexible team working approach is necessary.
You will be adept at managing a busy and varied workload.
You will often be responding to short notice requests for information and guidance, while balancing longer term research/report writing and presentation.
You will be curious to explore and test new ideas and ways of working, to ensure our funding reaches those at greatest need. As such an awareness of public policy, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), and participation methods would be useful.
Familiarity with digital communication tools would be advantageous.
