Giving all children in Scotland an equal chance to flourish is at the heart of everything we do. This Family Support Worker will play a key role in the exciting new Open Kindergarten pilot project.
Open Kindergartens are a long-standing concept in parent support in the Nordic countries, providing group support to parents and carers and their young children, where children are not in full-time day care.
The key objectives are to reduce social isolation among parents of very young children (0-3 years), support effective parenting, and contribute to optimising children’s health, wellbeing, learning and development. The post holder will develop and deliver parent and child sessions at Granton Early Years Centre, deliver family outreach work in the local area and contribute to evaluation of the pilot project.
You will have experience of working with parents and carers, and with young children in both group and one-to-one situations. Excellent planning and communication skills are required.
Closing date: 8am, Wednesday 10 July 2019
Interviews will be held Wednesday 17 July 2019
