How we treat our children is a measure of our society. Our vision at Children 1st is that children in Scotland should grow up in strong, resilient families and communities, with access to early help and support when they need it. Children’s rights should be protected and their voices heard.
This is reflected in everything that we do at Children 1st. By working together with, and listening to, children, young people, their families and communities, and by influencing public policy and opinion, we are helping to transform the lives of children and young people living in challenging circumstances across Scotland.
Our Board of Management is committed to our vision and values, and members bring their wide range of skills, knowledge, expertise, objectivity, insight and strategic thought to the table. They involve themselves in our work and steer our organisation forward.
We are currently looking for three new Board Members, who can help us expand the range of skills around the table. We are particularly looking for expertise in the areas of Mental Health and Trauma, Human Resources, and Fundraising. We are also keen to hear from applicants with strong business links in the Northeast and the Highlands.
We welcome applications from throughout Scotland (meeting are usually held in Edinburgh).
The positions are voluntary; however reasonable travel expenses are met.
Closing date: Monday 20 May 2019. It is anticipated that interviews will be held at the end of May or beginning of June.
