Head of Communications and Fundraising – The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of complex issues, from tackling climate change, to our food and land use system, to protection and restoration of Scotland’s environment and addressing the unsustainable consumption of precious natural resources.

As a member of the WWF Scotland leadership team we want you to use your talents to inform and implement our strategy in Scotland as well as enhance our reputation and raise funds. Collaborating with colleagues across the organisation you and your team will ensure our work is communicated to a range of audiences and influencers in a clear, engaging, consistent and credible way.

You will lead and guide your team in the management, development and delivery of WWF Scotland’s communications activities across all channels, including Earth Hour. You will take responsibility for fundraising strategy and motivate team members to successfully deliver on public engagement and advocacy campaigns. Your team will be brand champions, implementing WWF-UK and International strategies in a way that is appropriate for Scotland as well as creating bespoke initiatives too. Important to this role, will be your ability to control budgets and provide accurate monitoring, evaluation and stakeholder reporting.

Head of Communications and Fundraising – Requirements

For this role, you must have significant experience of developing and delivering integrated communications strategies and campaigns as well as sound knowledge of the institutions, political structures, media and stakeholders in Scotland.

You will have a proven track record of designing and implementing public campaigns to raise awareness and achieve defined advocacy goals as well as experience of developing and delivering creative approaches for engaging, mobilising and influencing key audiences. You will also have been involved in fundraising and developed a strong understanding of online, digital and social media tools.

A strong influencer and leader (you may already have some people management experience), you must be able to encourage and motivate your team to design innovative and creative campaigns which deliver results.

An effective project manager you will be used to overseeing multiple stakeholder relationships and building high performing teams. You will also possess excellent communication, interpersonal and brand management skills. Critically you will be hands-on and capable of producing well designed content.
