Role

Since 1991, The Big Issue has fought poverty by creating opportunities and supporting people to take control of their lives.

As part of the development of The Big Issue Group’s (TBIG’s) joint Social Impact Framework (SIF) we are now looking to recruit an Impact Manager. The Impact Manager will be based in the Big Issue Invest Impact Team with the exciting role in the developing the SIF in line with the Group’s new strategy.

The Role

Working across TBIG the Impact Manager will develop buy in for the SIF and support colleagues to establish clear and effective impact management approaches to understand our social, economic and environmental impact. This includes ensuring quality data collection, analysis and reporting systems.

The IM will work closely with the Big Issue Invests’ Head of Impact to build the SIF based on the experience to date of Big Issue Invest. Critically, the SIF must work both to support the internal impact information needs of the business and provide reporting for external funders and stakeholders of the Big Issue.

Salary and Benefits

A salary commensurate with the third sector, which can be confirmed on request

Incremental holiday entitlement starting at 25 days per year plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time staff) plus paid leave to care for a sick child or grandchild and a sick or elderly relation

Incremental sick pay starting at 5 days per rolling year

Workplace details

This role will preferably be based at one of our main Big Issue offices in London (Finsbury Park office), Glasgow, Cardiff or Birmingham. Home working arrangements will be considering. Following covid-19, you will need to travel within the UK on occasion. Due to the current situation with Covid-19 our main offices are currently closed but we are fully equipped for flexible home working until the offices re-open fully and beyond.
