Grants Officer

  • Part time
  • £28,000 pro-rata
  • Musselburgh, East Lothian
  • Closing 7th August 2020

  • Advertised from 3rd July 2020
  • 3 days/21 hours a week. Maternity Cover from early October 2020.

Role

Teapot Trust provides art therapy in hospitals, community settings and online to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people living with chronic conditions – and their families.

We’re seeking an experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser to cover the maternity leave of our grants officer for up to twelve months. We’re not looking for someone to ‘hold the reins’ but to bring an ambitious can-do attitude to securing both project and core costs including multi-annual grants. While taking a lead in managing a programme of applications, you will work closely with and be supported by the CEO and the supporter engagement officer.

Key requirements

  • Understanding of, empathy with, and commitment to Teapot Trust’s aim
  • Proven experience of fundraising from trusts and foundation
  • Experience of researching funders, managing a programme of applications and keeping accurate records on a relational database.
  • Working knowledge of devising credible project budgets
  • Excellent writing skills with a flair for constructing a compelling case
  • Experience of using a CRM database
  • Proven experience of financial reporting – pipeline activity and projections
  • An ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Experience of building fruitful relationships
  • Experience of working as part of a mutually dependent and supportive team
