Role

Children 1st is Scotland’s National Children’s Charity.

We exist to prevent abuse and neglect, to protect children and keep them safe from harm. We work to make sure children in Scotland live in safe, loving families and in strong communities. We help survivors of abuse, trauma and other adversity to recover and we work tirelessly to protect the rights of children in Scotland.

Our approach to all aspects of our work is to capture and understand the experience and voices of the children and families we support and ensure that they have opportunities to influence policy, practice and service design.

We now have an exciting new opportunity at a senior level to join our team. We are seeking to recruit a Director of Strategic Planning and Campaigns to lead the development and implementation of an integrated approach to our national campaigns and planning framework.

If you are passionate about Children’s rights and have the leadership and communication skills required we want to hear from you. You will work alongside colleagues across all parts of the organisation to deliver on our ambitious strategic priorities plan to reach and transform children’s lives and will provide leadership and direction to the organisation’s Policy and Communications teams, and over see the transformational development of the Charity’s Parentline service and other national initiatives as agreed.

You will be committed to working through positive relationships and have significant experience of successfully developing and implementing organisational strategy at a senior level.

You will also have a proven track record of working relationally and collaboratively to deliver strategies that support complex organisations to achieve a lasting difference for the people we support, maximum impact through clear public campaigns that build understanding and support for our work and deliver sustainable change in children’s policy and practice.
