We are looking for a new team member within our Scottish Borders Domestic Abuse Support & Recovery Service, which offers support to children, young people, families who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse.
This presents an exciting opportunity to join our busy, friendly team, delivering support across the Scottish Borders, working from our base in Selkirk. Children 1st offer relational based support - you will take a restorative, strengths based and trauma sensitive approach and work in partnership with individuals and families to help them achieve their desired outcomes.
Support for Children, Young People and their families:
Working with a strong knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people, your support will range from short term safety planning interventions, to longer term recovery focussed work. You will support children and young people in their awareness of how domestic abuse has impacted on themselves and their family, provide strategies for coping, resilience and positive mental health. Whilst this post is predominantly to support children and young people, Children 1st take a systemic approach to support and it is expected that you will have the skills and experience to also support parents and families impacted by domestic abuse.
If you have experience, skills and knowledge of trauma recovery, the impact of domestic abuse and experience of assessments, including risk assessment within domestic abuse we would like to hear from you. You should have a relevant higher qualification such as at SVQ level 4 or above, SCQF level 9 or above, degree or post-graduate level.
This is a Permanent, part time post of 21 hours per week.
