About the Walled Garden
The Walled Garden is one of Cyrenians public facing services, where we support people on Community Payback Orders to put back into the community and develop their own horticultural skills.
Set in a public space of half an acre within Dollar Park, Falkirk the garden is highly valued by the community, and is a home for events, volunteering and enjoying the tranquillity it has to offer.
About the role
As sessional Community Gardener you’ll contribute to developing a creative and interactive garden and programme for those engaging with our services. You’ll be surprised at how many opportunities you’ll have to perfect planting, bring new ideas and share your enthusiasm and garden knowledge with others. As you’d imagine, there are plenty of chances to get your hands dirty – and it’s safe to say you’ll never be bored!
You’ll be part of a small garden team who engage with a real variety of people to help us we meet our aims, including those on community payback orders and community volunteers.
About you
You’ll be an experienced gardener with a dynamic ‘can-do’ attitude and a genuine interest in gardens, working outdoors and people. Your enthusiasm and positive outlook will help you nurture an environment where people feel safe, valued and an opportunity to gain new skills

Main Duties and Responsibilities
4 programmes reflect our strategic objectives which are to prioritise prevention, end rough sleeping and destitution, support the transition to rapid rehousing and provide platforms for lived experience.
You will draw on your knowledge, skills and experience to:
1. Take a highly relational approach that builds and nurtures the key relationships needed to achieve policy and programme objectives.

About the role
You will work as part of a team to support people experiencing homelessness and working towards recovery from gambling harm. You will also work with people affected by someone else’s gambling issues.
Partnership working will be central to this role. You will work alongside Cyrenians colleagues, 3rd sector, statutory partners and service users to shape the delivery this project.
About You
You will be an outgoing individual with excellent organisational skills with a creative and innovative approach. You will be committed to promoting inclusion, and will have experience of working with people with a broad range of life experiences. You will have experience working 1:1 with people, and ideally in delivering group work.

Emotional Health and Wellbeing Lead – Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution

What does ‘emotional health and wellbeing’ mean to you? What do you think it could mean for young people?
Over the last decade there has been a significant decline in the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, with CAMHS recording an increase in referrals; in the first quarter of 2023, 10,500 children and young people were referred in Scotland. With a significant need to widen awareness of mental health and wellbeing within schools to support young people, SCCR’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing Lead plays a vital role within the team. You will be taking our work to young people, playing a role in reducing conflict situations that lead relationships to breakdown and mental health to suffer.
About the service
Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution is a National Resource Centre for best practice in conflict resolution, mediation and early intervention work with a particular focus on young people and families. Our award-winning digital resources, free training and events improve understanding of conflict and emotional needs, to transform relationships and lives.
About the role
This role will ensure that the SCCR continues to evolve and extend its reach. You will:
- Engage with young people to review and develop our services, ensuring their voices are heard
- Deliver workshops and presentations, and contribute to our range of digital resources
- Maintain and develop working relationships with schools and other youth organisations
- Monitor and report on the progress of our work
About you
We are seeking a committed and self-motivated individual with experience in conflict resolution, research, psychology and creative practices. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work under your own initiative, while also working in a team environment.

Project Worker (Youth Boost project)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Project Worker to join our Youth Homelessness Support Service, funded by Perth and Kinross Council the service aims to support young people to transistion from homelessness into settled accommodation, as well as supporting those in tenancies who may be at risk of eviction and young people who want to return home and maintain relationships with their families. The Project Worker will work with young people aged 16-25 years.
The Project Worker will be a leading member of the team, establishing positive relationships with partner agencies across Perth, working to ensure that youth homelessness rates reduce, and that a young person’s experience of homelessness is rare, brief and non-recurring.
This post is ideal for a self-starter, who has previous experience of working in a supportive role in a paid or voluntary capacity and is looking for a new challenge.
For applicants that don’t currently meet the requirements for registration as a support worker in a Housing Support service with the SSSC, this post can be offered as a technical apprenticeship giving the successful candidate a pathway to achieving the SVQ level 3 or 4 in Health & Social Care.
