We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join our Seafield Housing Support Service Team for 9 months.

Liaising with the organisation’s practice support team, the SSW will assist in the preparation of support and communication plans, ensuring consistent practices throughout support networks.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our West Lothian, Perth & Kinross services as an Area Manager.

Autism Initiatives Scotland provides a range of person centred services throughout Scotland. The charity provides services to autistic people who are 16 years old and over and encompasses supported living and outreach services.

The Area Manager is responsible for the design of the support programme to the people we support and to ensure, through the management team, the delivery and maintenance of high level autism specific services. The Area Manager’s responsibilities also include financial management, service development and liaison with external agencies. To provide leadership to the group of services, the Area Manager must ensure all staff are managed and supervised effectively. The Area Manager will be required to travel to our sites across West Lothian, Perth & Kinross.

You will have excellent leadership and supervision skills, knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the social care sector and management of an operational budget. A Social Work / health care qualification or equivalent as noted within the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC) guidelines for the qualifications for managers is essential for this role.

We currently have a Maternity Cover opportunity for a Deputy National One Stop Shops Manager to join our One Stop Shops on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

Our One Stop Shops provide free social opportunities and 1-1 advice and support on a range of issues to autistic adults living in Edinburgh, Lothians, Scottish Borders, Tayside and across Highland.

The OSS Deputy Manager will assist the National One Stop Shops Manager in developing and delivering a wide range of needs-led services by effective liaison with a range of external agencies, professionals, autistic adults, parents and carers. This will include: supervision of staff in Edinburgh and Perth; assistance with funding applications and funding reports; delivery of workshops/training on autism, the work of the OSSs and our diagnostic project; representing AI and the OSSs at local and national autism strategy events; and producing and presenting statistical information on the development of our diagnostic project.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of autism and the development of the OSS model over the last 19 years, including the impact of the Scottish Strategy for Autism and the various local strategies, as well as knowledge of other projects provided by Autism Charities and Autistic People’s Organisations (APOs). You will need to be able to manage a very varied workload with changing priorities, and meet tight reporting deadlines.

We are looking for someone with a broad understanding of autism and the particular issues faced by those recently diagnosed as autistic, with the ability to develop positive working relationships and deliver workshops and training. Many of our services are currently being delivered remotely, so you will also need to be able to deliver 1-1 and group support across a range of platforms, including Skype, Zoom and Teams.

The Area Manager will be required to travel to our sites across West Lothian, Perth & Kinross.

You will have excellent leadership and supervision skills, knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the social care sector and management of an operational budget. Employability Coordinator

Whilst HOSS services are usually available only to those living within Highland, we have received funding to provide support to people referred by Jobcentre Plus staff in the Moray area. The Employability Coordinator will work with those autistic adults to improve their future employment options. As part of the HOSS staff team, the employability worker will also introduce those autistic adults to the wider range of services available through HOSS, and support the HOSS team with employability issues within Highland. The Employability Coordinator will work with a range of external agencies, professionals, autistic adults, parents and carers.

We are looking for someone with a broad understanding of autism and the particular issues faced by those seeking employment, with the ability to develop positive working relationships and deliver workshops and training. Many of our services are currently being delivered remotely, so you will also need to be able to deliver 1-1 and group support across a range of platforms, including Skype, Zoom and Teams.
