We are recruiting a part-time Childminding Development Officer, to support the involvement of childminders within our Aberdeen City service.

You will have an understanding of childminding and the role of childminders in funded ELC, the ability to identify and support training needs, as well as represent childminding locally.

The successful applicant will work alongside local authority partners such as Education and Early Years services, as well as third sector and family support organisations.

Excellent organisational and inter-personal skills are required and working as part of a team is essential. You should be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, self-motivation, and highly developed written and oral communication skills.

The successful applicant will manage the effective delivery of our current Early Learning and Childcare and Community Childminding services Scotland wide, in addition to identifying opportunities for further growth in line with our strategy. You will be adept at developing relationships, negotiating and working with partners to achieve better outcomes for children and families. Working alongside an existing team of two Area Managers, allocation of geographical services will be agreed in collaboration with the team.

We require a skilled communicator with the ability to manage and motivate your team, demonstrating enthusiasm, self-motivation and focus. You will possess excellent organisational skills, be fluent in written reports and funding applications, as well as budget setting and reporting.

We are recruiting a passionate and detail-oriented Finance Coordinator to join our team and play a vital role in supporting our exciting new Workforce Programme, Shaping Scotland’s Childminding Future, aimed at retaining and growing the number of childminders across Scotland.

As Finance Coordinator you will contribute to the operational management and delivery of the Shaping Scotland’s Childminding Future programme finance functions. You will assist with providing financial support to the programme whilst adhering to organisational finance procedures. You will deliver effective, efficient, and accurate financial administrative support to the Shaping Scotland’s Childminding Future team.

We require an excellent communicator with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices who has excellent attention to detail and accuracy. The postholder is required to have proven ability to prioritise work, present information, and forward plan.

You will have experience of working with families and an awareness of current support available; working collaboratively with key agencies including Early Years; an understanding of childminding and the role of childminders, as well as their training and support needs.

You will have experience of delivering training to adults; an awareness and understanding of ELC expansion and funded hours; family support; collaborative working with key agencies including Early Years; alongside an understanding of childminding and the role of childminders.

Excellent organisational and inter-personal skills are required and working as part of a team is

essential. You should be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, self-motivation, and highly developed written and oral communication skills.

The post is home-based but will require travel and attendance at meetings within the geographic areas when current restrictions are lifted (including occasional travel to Head Office in Stirling). Equipment and broadband/IT connections will be provided.

Starting Salary: AP3 PT 23 £22,310 (pro rata) and we operate a contributory pension scheme which

you will be auto-enrolled into (subject to the conditions of the scheme).
