YoMo’s Walk & Talk service is looking for a new support officer, this post is funded for 6 months but has been included in the next 3 years funding application. YoMo’s Walk & Talk program is a one-to-one youth work approach to support young people experiencing a range of challenges including loneliness, isolation or mental health issues. This program has been very successful in supporting young people coming out of covid and the ongoing youth mental health crisis.
The post offer wellbeing package of support for the successful candidate.
We are looking for a family worker to deliver sessions, clubs and activities for our children, and families. The delivery will be varied and will always be driven by the needs of the community.
You will also be responsible for working on trips and holiday programs.
There will also be the remit of devising and implementing new projects and clubs as guided by funding requirements and service user’s needs.
You will work in partnership with local organisations and schools and build up strong positive community links.
The Base is a place based project your will be expected to work alongside and supporting local volunteers.
You will work to enhance the lives of local children by ensuring activities are provided to develop their mental, emotional, physical and social well-being needs.
You will also be committed to ongoing personal development and undertake training or other professional development activities as required.
All other reasonable duties will be required to be undertaken as and when required and agreed with the Project Manager.
Due to the increase demand for youth services at our new space The Base at North Maryhill we are looking for a Youth Work Lead to manage the developing youth work services from The Base.
Dueto staff leaving for personal reasons we are again looking for a part time staff member to manage YoMo’s youth volunteering including our Youth Health Champions project funded by Young Start for two years. The post has prospects of becoming full time if desired and offers the benefit of an extended two weeks paid leave over Christmas.
YoMo (Young Movers) is Glasgow’s leading youth empowerment charity, is looking for a dedicated staff member to start a new Cycle Hub in North Maryhill. Funding is for 2 years and could be full time if desired. Flexible working with evenings and weekends as required.
The post holder will create a programme of activities and opportunities for the local community. They will also deliver training including on road cycle training, group rides, maintenance classes, Fix Your Own Bike (FYOB) sessions and Dr Bikes. Developing strong partnerships with individuals, businesses and community-based services is key to this role. This project includes regular cycling activities, training and development opportunities as well as longer-term volunteering opportunities.

As such we are currently looking for a Youth Employability Officer to join us and take the lead in engaging with and progressing young people along their chosen path to potential volunteering, education and employment opportunities.

As Youth Employability Officer you will be used to collaborative working and will have some experience managing people. You will be an excellent organiser and should be prepared to track project outcomes and write brief reports for managers/funders as required. You will enjoy presenting to partners and employers as well as building and maintaining relationships with a view to securing job outcomes and signposting, education, training, volunteering and ultimately employment opportunities.
The Youth Employability Officer needs to come from an employability, management, youthwork or learning background. You will undertake to agree and perform in line with YoMo’s professional guidelines. You will be experienced in delivering a range of employability and vocational skills, mainly on an individual basis but occasionally to groups, to young clients from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of needs. The Youth Employability Officer will ultimately be required to achieve project outcomes and help to shape future project innovations.
This specific role involves managing the day to day running of the project as well as proactively managing caseloads of individuals in North & East of Glasgow who are unemployed, “hard to reach” or not socially or economically engaged. YoMo’s youth led approach is informal, comfortable and non-threatening and our clients can face multiple issues so this new postholder requires to have an inclusive but dynamic approach to motivate and enthuse our clientele.
