If so, we have a fabulous opportunity for you as a Performance and Impact Advisor (PIA) with our Support in the Right Direction (SiRD) fund team. We are looking for a full time (35 hours per week) PIA to join our small team delivering this important funding stream on behalf of the Scottish Government Social Care Directorate.

SiRD is a highly regarded, multi-year, funding programme delivering independent support for people, social care users and unpaid carers to be equal partners in their social care planning and maximise their right to ‘choice and control’ under Self-Directed Support legislation. Independent support organisations in the SiRD programme are locally based across Scotland and include advocacy organisations, Carers Centres, Centres of Inclusive Living, and other community groups.

As a PIA you will support our SiRD Fund Manager to provide high quality support for funded groups and the Scottish Government, ensuring the best impact and learning from the funding. As part of a small team you will have a varied role, from grant administration and monitoring through to communications, event planning, research, and programme development.

We are a community-owned non-profit shop and cafe, run mainly by volunteers and managed by a volunteer management committee. Our mission is to bring the community together, promote sustainable living and encourage healthy eating for all.

We are looking for a Retail Manager to keep our shop running smoothly and help us to grow. You will be responsible for all stock ordering and management (with the exception of fresh fruit and vegetables), including managing and cleaning our refillery, all stock taking, tracking product sales and minimising waste, as well as sourcing new product lines and suppliers. You will liaise with our cafe team to order their supplies. You will work with all your colleagues to promote the Storehouse and our products, and assist with event organisation. The Storehouse has a lot of potential for growth and new ventures, and you will be a key part of the team achieving this future development.

We have a wonderful team of volunteers from a huge variety of backgrounds, with a wide range of skills and abilities. You will work with your colleagues to supervise, train and support our volunteers. You will report to the Management Committee via the Staff Liaison.

You will need to be organised and enthusiastic, with great attention to detail, and work well as part of a team. You will need to be committed to our ethos of supplying great quality, sustainable and ethical groceries to our community. You will need to be able to work flexibly with other staff to cover absences and annual leave.

What you’ll do

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Employability Keyworkers to join our Employability team, with one role focussing on Early Years Employability and the other role focussing on Customer Service Employability.

Our Employability Keyworkers work closely with the Employability Manager to ensure high quality programmes are delivered, providing support that will minimise barriers to employment and offer training to increase skills, development, and support access to further training, and education to allow people to move into sustainable employment.

As part of the role, your main responsibilities will include:

• Designing, delivering, and evaluating training for groups wishing to enter the relevant employment.
  • The Early Years Employability Keyworker will focus on programmes for groups wishing to enter childcare sector-based industries to ensure they have a clear understanding and knowledge of local and national policies related to Early Years including The Early Years Framework, GIFFEC, CofE, Child Protection as well as knowledge on child development theories.
  • The Customer Service Employability Keyworker will focus on programmes for groups wishing to enter retail, hospitality or customer service sector-based industries and provide ongoing support upon completion of our programmes.
• Maintaining up to date knowledge of the employment sector for young people/adults and pre-employment training provision that may be needed.
• Ensuring Employability Programme trainees get the support that they require to help them remain engaged, focused and progress to their identified goals.
• Building trusting relationships with FARE and Employability Programme trainees, challenging negative attitudes and behaviours whilst motivating individuals to retain focus.
• Supporting participants’ FE and job search activities, personal development, goal setting, identifying, and overcoming barriers, CV development, completing applications, interview skills, and accredited qualifications.
• Liaising with employers to identify job opportunities, further training and/or education within the stages of the Employability Pipeline in order to meet recruitment targets and outcomes.
• Providing post-employment support to achieve sustained employment outcomes, including tracking, and database record-keeping.

About you
