About the Walled Garden
The Walled Garden is one of Cyrenians public facing services, where we support people on Community Payback Orders to put back into the community and develop their own horticultural skills.
Set in a public space of half an acre within Dollar Park, Falkirk the garden is highly valued by the community, and is a home for events, volunteering and enjoying the tranquillity it has to offer.
About the role
As Community Gardener you’ll contribute to developing a creative and interactive garden and programme for those engaging with our services. You’ll be surprised at how many opportunities you’ll have to perfect planting, bring new ideas and share your enthusiasm and garden knowledge with others. As you’d imagine, there are plenty of chances to get your hands dirty – and it’s safe to say you’ll never be bored!
You’ll be part of a small garden team who engage with a real variety of people to help us meet our aims, including those on community payback orders and community volunteers.
About you
You’ll be an experienced gardener with a dynamic ‘can-do’ attitude and a genuine interest in people, gardening and working outdoors. Your enthusiasm and positive outlook will help you nurture an environment where people feel safe, valued and an opportunity to gain new skills

Emotional Health and Wellbeing Lead – Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution

What does ‘emotional health and wellbeing’ mean to you? What do you think it could mean for young people?
Over the last decade there has been a significant decline in the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, with CAMHS recording an increase in referrals; in the first quarter of 2023, 10,500 children and young people were referred in Scotland. With a significant need to widen awareness of mental health and wellbeing within schools to support young people, SCCR’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing Lead plays a vital role within the team. You will be taking our work to young people, playing a role in reducing conflict situations that lead relationships to breakdown and mental health to suffer.
About the service
Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution is a National Resource Centre for best practice in conflict resolution, mediation and early intervention work with a particular focus on young people and families. Our award-winning digital resources, free training and events improve understanding of conflict and emotional needs, to transform relationships and lives.
About the role
This role will ensure that the SCCR continues to evolve and extend its reach. You will:
- Engage with young people to review and develop our services, ensuring their voices are heard
- Deliver workshops and presentations, and contribute to our range of digital resources
- Maintain and develop working relationships with schools and other youth organisations
- Monitor and report on the progress of our work
About you
We are seeking a committed and self-motivated individual with experience in conflict resolution, research, psychology and creative practices. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work under your own initiative, while also working in a team environment.

Project Worker – Glasgow

Rock Trust are delighted to be expanding the successful ‘Housing First for Youth’ service into Glasgow. We are looking for a team member who has experience of supporting young vulnerable people accessing our services. The role will involve working intensively with a small caseload of young people to coordinate and provide emotional and practical support.
The Project Worker will work directly with young people to coordinate and provide emotional and practical support on a 1:1 and group basis. Working with young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to ensure that when homelessness can’t be avoided, their experience of homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring.
The Project Worker will offer line management, guidance, and support to Support Assistants and volunteers, working together to support young people to return or remain at home, improve their practical independent living skills, set up their own tenancy and access other services and to reach their full potential. Project Workers are responsible for completing support plans and risk assessments and are the main contact for any key people involved in the care and support of young people.
In addition to the responsibilities in the JD, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- An ability to build trusting, lasting relationships with young people
- Support young people to manage and thrive in their home
- Motivate young people to set goals and reach their potential
- An ability to work effectively with partners and other key people to provide young people with

The City Community is based in North Edinburgh, we offer accommodation and support to young people aged 16 to 30. The purpose of the community is to provide a safe and supported living environment for the young people to live, learn and develop together while they find out more about themselves and what their aspirations are for the future.

You’ll be:
• Providing direct line management to a small team of experienced staff
• Ensuring the referral, induction and moving in process of all new residents is effective and trauma-informed.
• Ensuring the support provided, and safeguarding processes are maintained to the highest standard.
• Providing direction, support and supervision to our team of peer volunteers.
• Overseeing all residents support reviews monitoring outcomes.
• Nurturing the culture of the community
About You
We are looking for a flexible, well organised and passionate individual who is aware of the challenges our young people may face. You will have experience of working with a similar client group, excellent communication skills, and a creative approach to problem solving. You will also have line management experience, and be motivated to work towards positive change.
You will be joining a staff team committed to the highest quality of care and support, and always striving to develop further. This means there will be great opportunities for you to both learn and develop, while sharing your skills and experiences.
